As originally cited on School Choice Ohio's Website , the Ohio Senate Finance Committee has a approved several provisions related to funding and scholarships for special needs children for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.
The provisions are part of the newly approved $71.2 billion dollar budget that was recently signed into law by Governor John Kasich.
The provisions include:
Increasing the high school EdChoice Scholarship to $5,700 per year
Increasing the funding cap for Autism Scholarships to $27,000 per year
Increasing the funding cap for Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarships to $27,000 per year
Increasing scholarship amounts across all categories for Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarships
Continuing the phase-in of the Income-Based Scholarship Program to include grades 2 and 3
