Pass the turkey - No, not the one on the dinner table. Sit in a circle with family/friends and pass
around a turkey, pumpkin, or other holiday item and have each person say what
they are grateful for when it gets to them.
You could add a little musical chairs twist and pass it until the music
stops and then have that person give thanks.
Turkey says - print out a picture of a black and white
turkey. Draw shapes on each
feather. For example, red square, yellow
circle, green triangle, orange star. Cut
out a black arrow and punch out a hole near the base as well as a hole in the
center of the turkey, then attach the arrow to the turkey with a brad fastener….voila! You have a spinner. Next draw the same shapes that are on the
turkey on a piece of paper and write 1-3 step motor directions next to each shape. For example, red square - do 10 jumping jacks
and clap three times for an older child or pat your tummy for a younger
child. Have your child(ren) spin the
spinner and then you say “Turkey says____.” If you have older children who are
reading, this is a nice way to involved them with their siblings.
Activity Village - I love this site for all seasons and
holidays. It has great printable mazes,
hidden pictures, cross words, word searches, coloring pages, jokes, and
more. Check it out at

Cook together - homemade applesauce, pumpkin pie, cornbread, etc.
are great ways for your child to experience new sights and smells and build
upper body strength by helping to stir.
