How does it work?
Telepractice
puts speech therapy services at a whole new level. It allows for parents and
children to be an active participant in their treatment process by using real
time video and audio software delivering services right to your home!
It begins
by completing an initial, in-person interview and evaluation where you and your
therapist work together to identify if there is a need for services. After
this, it will be decided if telepractice is the right fit for you. You and your
assigned therapist will create a treatment plan to address your child’s individual
needs.
Next,
your therapist will aid you in the set up of your personal telepractice equipment
to ensure you will be set up for success for future telepractice sessions. You
will be asked to do a ‘trial run’ telepractice session so you can set up and practice
using the telepractice software before true therapy sessions begins. From this point, you and your therapist will
begin sessions at a frequency that is best for you or your child’s needs. We
typically see clients for 30 minutes, weekly.
