A new favorite book of mine, "The Hallo-wiener" by Dav Pilkey focuses on bullying and Halloween. This book is perfect for the month of October as it is National Bullying Prevention Month.
This story focuses on Oscar, the main character, and how he is bullied because of his shape and size and his Halloween costume. Eventually, the other dogs need Oscar's help and he comes to the rescue.
My clients love this book and request to read it multiple times as they laugh along with the characters and continue to discuss aspects of bullying and each characters' feelings. This story is perfect to teach your child(ren) about bullying and how to be a true friend.
